How Do I Become a Franchisee?

The Process

A)  Learn as much as you can about the auto repair and maintenence industry through as many sources as you can find, and learn as much as you can about Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers. Some of the resources available to you to learn about us are:

  • This web site. We have placed a great deal of information here for your convenience in learning about us.

  • The FDD - Franchise Disclosure Document. When you contact us, we will provide you with our Franchise Disclosure Document, which is required by law, and it is a valuable source of information about our company and the franchise offering. In addition to a listing of company executives, our financial statements, and estimated initial investment information, it includes a copy of the Franchise Agreement for your review.

  • Talking with our franchisees. One of the most valuable sections in the FDD is a listing of all of our franchise stores, along with the franchisee's contact information to enable you to contact them with questions about the business model, and about their relationship with us the Franchisor.
B) Complete and submit to us the on line Franchisee Candidate Biography for our records, at no cost or obligation to you.

C)  Have a conversation with us about your interests. Listen to a presentation about the business, and allow us to answer whatever questions you may have. Develop a relationship with us as we both explore if the franchise opportunity is right for you.

D)  Analyze financial information to test your sales and expense projections, and to evaluate how the business meets your profitability and return on investment expectations. There is data in the FDD to aid you with this analysis. Our current franchisees may also be a source of sales, expense and profitability data. You may also want to seek advice from a qualified consultant.

E)   Plan a day visit with us at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL, so we can meet face to face, visit some of our stores, and give you the opportunity to meet many of our executives and people who will provide support to you if you move forward with the franchise.

F)  Make initial contact with one or more potential lenders to understand the financing expectations. When you visit us we will spend time discussing the process, and providing you with some contacts at lenders we work with on a regular basis.

G)  Evaluate the real estate opportunities and challenges for the geography you are interested in developing. Our Real Estate Development Team will be able to provide you with a great deal of guidance, direction and support in this process.

H)  Decision day. Make the decision to either sign a Franchise Agreement with us and join the EXPRESS OIL CHANGE® system, or decide to move on with other oppoturnities.
