Why do I need this service?
Changing your transmission fluid is just like changing your oil. The fluid wears out and needs to be changed to prevent the breakdown of your transmission. This will help prolong the life of your transmission and prevent costly furture repairs.
Transmission filter service:
- Leading car manufacturers recommend that the transmission filter be serviced on a regular basis. (Check your owner’s manual for specific mileage interval recommendations for your vehicle.)
- At EXPRESS OIL CHANGE® & Service Center, for most vehicles, we remove the transmission pan and clean out a portion of the old fluid that may have built up in the transmission; and we replace the old filter and pan gasket.
This service usually takes 20-30 minutes.
Transmission flush and fill service:
Transmission flush service utilizes specifically designed equipment that hooks up to your transmissioin and, with the use of custom-blended chemicals, safely power-flushes out most of the old fluid and contaminants. Fresh transmission fluid is then pumped in, along with proprietary conditioners that revitalize the seals and O-rings of your automatic transmission. With this service, very little old fluid is left in your transmission.
This service usually takes 30-40 minutes.
Transmission flush, fill and filter service:
We will perform a combination of the transmission filter service and the transmission flush and fill service as one complete service. This service replaces practically all of the old fluid with new fluid and replaces your filter and gasket.
This service usually takes 1 hour 15 minutes.
