Becoming an Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers franchisee is an excellent opportunity, but it’s also a commitment — both financially and professionally. To help you decide if it’s the right step for you, we encourage you to gain a comprehensive understanding of our company, what opportunities exist and what investment you’ll be required to make.
We recommend franchisee candidates take the following steps in their decision-making process:
Learn as much as you can about the auto repair and maintenance industry and Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers. The best place to start is this website, where you can learn more about who we are and new markets available for franchise opportunities. We also encourage potential franchisees to talk with existing franchisees about their experience and relationship with us. After you reach out expressing interest, we will provide contact information on existing franchisees.
Submit a franchise information request, at no cost or obligation to you, to start the conversation and collect more information.
Carefully review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) you will receive, as required by law, when you express interest in our franchise opportunities. As mentioned before, it will include contact information for existing franchisees as well as information about our company including company executives and financial statements. It will also explain your estimated initial investment and include a copy of our Franchise Agreement for your review.
Develop a relationship with us. Review our business presentation, talk to us about your interests and ask us questions. Together, we can decide if this franchise opportunity is right for you. Our initial contact will likely be over the phone or online, but we will also encourage you to visit our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL, so we can meet face-to-face. You can also visit some of our stores and meet our executives and other team members who you will work with as a franchisee.
Analyze financial information to test your sales and expense projections, and to evaluate how the business meets your profitability and return-on-investment expectations. There is data in the FDD to aid you with this analysis. Our current franchisees may also be a source of sales, expense and profitability data. You may also want to seek advice from a qualified consultant.
Make initial contact with potential lenders to gain an understanding of financing expectations. When you visit us, we will spend time discussing the process and provide you some contacts at lenders we work with on a regular basis.
Evaluate the real estate opportunities and challenges for the geographic location you are interested in developing. Our real estate development team will provide you with a great deal of guidance, direction and support in this process.
Decision day. If after going through this process you are certain you are ready to launch your first location, you’ll sign our Franchise Agreement as the final step in joining the Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers family!
